Sons & Daughters of Thunder, a new film by award-winning filmmakers Kelly and Tammy Rundle of Fourth Wall Films in Moline, received a "Certificate of Merit for Excellence in Historical Filmmaking" from The Ogeechee International History Film Festival in Statesboro, Georgia. A special screening of the film will take place at the Moline Public Library for Black History Month.
The docudrama, which tells the true story of the early debates on emancipation and the awakening of Harriet Beecher Stowe to the horrors of slavery, will screen free in the Moline Public Library’s Gold Room, 3210 41st Street in Moline on February 6 at 6PM for a special Black History Month program. A Q&A with the filmmakers and several cast members will follow the film presentation.
The producers note that the film is not for young children, and the 96-minute film’s detailed discussions of slavery might suggest a PG-13 rating.
