The Bettendorf Public Library celebrates storytelling through the art of film with its new "Monday Movie of the Month" series.
Film lovers can view a film at 6 p.m. on the second Monday of each month through June 2020. This movie series will explore several tried-and-true film genres through pairings of classic and modern films, and it's FREE!
Genres explored in the six-month series will include musicals, westerns and noir.
On April 13th at 6:00 p.m. Clint Eastwood's 1992 Academy Award-winning Western, Unforgiven, will screen. When prostitute Delilah Fitzgerald (Anna Thomson) is disfigured by a pair of cowboys in Big Whiskey, Wyoming, her fellow brothel workers post a reward for their murder, much to the displeasure of sheriff Little Bill Daggett (Gene Hackman), who doesn't allow vigilantism in his town. Two groups of gunfighters, one led by aging former bandit William Munny (Clint Eastwood), the other by the florid English Bob (Richard Harris), come to collect the reward, clashing with each other and the sheriff.
"Monday Movie of the Month" Schedule:
May 11: Double Indemnity (1944)
June 8: Brick (2005)
