An angel is sent from Heaven to help a desperately frustrated businessman by showing him what life would have been like if he had never existed. The beloved Christmas classic It's a Wonderful Life will screen one time on Tuesday, December 24th at 4:00 p.m. at Cinemark Davenport, 3601 E 53rd St, Davenport, Iowa.
Directed by Frank Capra, the film stars James Stewart and Iowa's own Donna Reed.
Upon its release in 1947, It's a Wonderful Life bombed at the box office and critics snubbed the film. Today the film--which was nominated for five Academy Awards including Best Picture--is considered one of the best American films ever made.
"No man is a failure and every man has something to do with his life,” Capra said about the theme of It's a Wonderful Life, his favorite film. “If he is born, he is born to do something.”
Capra screened It's a Wonderful Life for his family every Christmas season.
