The Classic Film Society presents the beloved classic film "The Egg and I" starring Claudette Colbert, Fred Murray, Marjorie Main and Louis Allbritton on Saturday, May 11, 6:30pm at Marycrest Senior Campus, Upham Hall Auditorium, 1607 W. 12th Street, Davenport, Iowa.
Synopsis: On their wedding night, Bob (Murray) reveals to Betty (Colbert) that he has purchased an abandoned chicken farm. Betty struggles to adapt to their new rural lifestyle, especially when a glamorous neighbor seems to set her eyes on Bob.
The romantic comedy was directed by Chester Erskine and Marjorie Main received an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress, and the film inspired eight subsequent Ma and Pa Kettle features.
