The sold-out premiere of "River to River" at the Putnam Giant Screen on Sept. 17 prompted an encore event on Sept. 30.
An encore screening of River to River: Iowa's Forgotten Highway 6 by Emmy® nominated documentary filmmakers Kelly and Tammy Rundle is scheduled at the Putnam Giant Screen on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at 6:30 p.m. A Q&A with the filmmakers and other film participants will follow the screening. Tickets are $8.50 and available at Putnam.org.
River to River: Iowa’s Forgotten Highway 6 guides viewers on a nostalgic classic car journey through yesterday’s soda shops, filling stations, general stores, drive-ins, historic sites and roadside attractions that line Iowa’s U.S. Highway 6. Iowa’s portion of the transcontinental Route 6 has a past that includes Bonnie and Clyde, Jesse James, Nancy Drew, Jack Kerouac, the Great Race Across Iowa, and others.
The film, which has been delighting capacity crowds at its showings in towns along Route 6, was inspired by the research and photography of Dave Darby, Executive Director of the Iowa Division of the Route 6 Tourist Association.
