Arriving in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
Between 75 and 150 classic cars motored across Iowa from the Mississippi River in Davenport to the Missouri River in Council Bluffs. Organizer Dave Darby, President of the Iowa U.S. Route 6 Tourism Association joined forces with sponsor Dahl Ford to show motorists all that the two lane Highway 6 has to offer. Proceeds from the cruise benefited the Children's Therapy Center in Moline, Illinois.
The tour enjoyed fantastic food and drink at Hill of Beans in Durant; the Wilton Candy Kitchen in Wilton; the Ladora Bank Bistro; the Menlo Cafe in Menlo; Wiota Steakhouse in Wiota; M&I Weather Vane Cafe in Anita; George the Chili King in Des Moines, and others!
Emmy-nominated filmmakers Kelly and Tammy Rundle of Fourth Wall Films captured footage of the Route 6 cruise along the way for their new documentary River to River: Iowa's Forgotten Highway 6, due for release in the fall of 2014.

Highlights of the cruise included a block party for the cruisers in Brooklyn, Iowa that drew crowds for good food, music and photographs of rows of classic beauties. The cruise made stops at the Spaulding Transportation Museum in Grinnell and paraded by waving townfolk. Music and a good old drive-in movie at the Valle in Newton; tour of the Coke Museum in Atlantic; a moving visit to the Freedom Rock created by artist Roy "Bubba" Sorensen in Greenfield, and many, many more memorable town offerings along the way.
