We need your help to tell the story of Midwestern barn building from the ground up! Starting at $5, you can help us raise THE BARN RAISERS! You're not just contributing -- you're joining us on this amazing journey.
We have launched our first IndieGoGo fundraising campaign for the documentary project--to view it, click HERE. We have decided to set a very modest goal of $5,000 to "test the crowdfunding waters" in the barn preservation community, and we have a lot of fun perks (with colorful descriptions) to reward your generosity!
We want to hit or surpass our $5,000 goal. If we come up short on the goal, Indiegogo takes an additional 5% for a total of 9%. Ouch! In addition, if we meet or exceed our goal before the deadline, we can continue to use the page to raise funds on an ongoing basis. YOU can help us meet or exceed this goal!
What happens in the hay mow, stays in the hay mow. Your anonymous contributions are always welcome.
Need a tax-deductible option for contributions of $100 or more? Just let us know. We have several active non-profit fiscal sponsors to choose from.
In addition to making a contribution, helping us spread the word about this campaign and the project is also very important -- and appreciated!
Produced by Emmy-nominated filmmakers Kelly and Tammy Rundle, The Barn Raisers historical documentary feature film tells the story of barns in the Upper Midwest by examining them through the lens of architecture.
What do barn settings, styles, methods and materials tell us about the people who built them, the life they lived, and the role these vanishing prairie palaces played in the settling and building of a growing nation?
Barns were constructed by farmer/craftsmen, professional builders who traveled from job to job and even architects like Frank Lloyd Wright.
The Barn Raisers paints a cinematic portrait of barns and builders and reminds us that these remnants from America's rural past are still here to be appreciated and experienced.
Our deadline is April 3rd, 2015. Visit the IndieGoGo campaign, select your perk and ake your contribution today by visiting https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/the-barn-raisers-documentary-film. And do spread the word by sharing the link!
