The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier newspaper in Iowa has a column entitled "Call the Courier" in which people can submit questions which are answered via the column.
In the April 26, 2009 edition, someone asked about Jean Seberg and Romain Gary's son Alexandre Diego Gary.
Born July 17, 1962 he was called Diego by his parents rather than his formal first name. Despite the deaths of his parents while he was still a teenager, Diego has fond memories of both and continues to support Romain Gary's literary legacy.
Romain was both an international bestselling author as well as a critically acclaimed one with dozens of works including The Roots of Heaven, Promise at Dawn, Lady L. and The Ski Bum all of which were made into films.
Diego married and resides in Spain where he apparently runs a bookstore while overseeing his father's literary and real estate holdings.
