It's Golden Globes® time and the red carpet is ready to be rolled out at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles, and at the Fleur Cinema in Des Moines, Iowa.
The 72nd Golden Globe® Awards will show on one of the Fleur's big screens at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 11th. Admission is free.
A video clip produced by Fourth Wall Films featuring Jean Seberg's 1965 Golden Globe® nomination in the 'Best Actress in a Drama' category for her role in "Lilith" will be among several others highlighting Iowa Golden Globe® nominees. The clips will be shown at the Fleur during broadcast commercial breaks.
According to writer/filmmaker Garry McGee (the book Jean Seberg: Breathless; the documentary Movie Star: The Secret Lives of Jean Seberg) Jean highly respected Lilith director, Robert Rossen and said, "Rossen was a man who knew my insecurities and helped me with them. I think that's why a kind of liberty came across that I haven't had in many other films."
Lilith co-starred Warren Beatty and Peter Fonda. It would be among Jean's favorite films of her career.
The annual Golden Globe® Watch Party is co-sponsored by the Iowa Motion Picture Association in partnership with Produce Iowa--The State Office of Media Production, the Iowa Scriptwriters Alliance and Mediacom Channel MC22.
Festivities begin at 5:00 p.m. for the red carpet event, featuring Melanie Hall of MC22's DSM Living interviewing Iowa filmmakers and other local film buffs. In addition to cheering on this year's favorite films, the Golden Globe Watch Party features prize drawings, and special guests. The Fleur Cinema is located at 4545 Fleur Drive, Des Moines, Iowa.
