Late actress Jean Seberg will light up the screen once again in her hometown of Marshalltown, Iowa November 10-13, 2011 for The first Jean Seberg International Film Festival at the Orpheum Theatre Center, 220 E. Main Street. The festival will screen several of Jean's better-known films and include two special symposiums moderated by Iowa Valley Communty College Professor Nancy Adams.
On Friday, November 11, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. Symposium 1 features film historian Dr. David Hinton of the University of Tennessee, and London's Jude Rawlins, creator of the website Saint Jean www.saintjean.co.uk/.
Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. Symposium 2 features Emmy-nominated writer/filmmaker Garry McGee (author of Jean Seberg: Breathless, Neutralized: The FBI vs. Jean Seberg--co-written with Jean Larson; producer of The Last Wright) and award-winning documentary filmmakers Kelly and Tammy Rundle (Country School: One Room - One Nation, Lost Nation: The Ioway, Villisca: Living with a Mystery).
McGee (McMarr, Ltd) and the Rundles (Fourth Wall Films) have teamed up to produce the documentary film Movie Star: The Secret Lives of Jean Seberg, which will be released in 2012.
A teaser of Movie Star will be shown during the symposium, as well as a 12-minute featurette the trio produced for the 50th Anniversary DVD re-release of Jean-Luc Godard's Breathless, Seberg's most influential film.

Movie Star: The Secret Lives of Jean Seberg has received grants from Humanities Iowa, the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the Iowa Arts Council.
