Yes, the cicadas are back. Not the 17-year cicadas mind you, but the "dog day" variety that light up the day and evening air with their rhythmic chattering. Some compare it to chorus of chainsaws, but we love the sound!
This little guy emerged during a yard sale, and he's attached to the brick portion of our house. The brick is one of the home's distinctive features. We like it a lot, but I don't know how common it is for mid-century modern homes to feature bricks.
