Not long after moving in we decided to remove the large upholstered cornices from the windows in the master bedroom.
After removal, the ceiling seemed taller and the entire room felt larger. The pattern in the fabric was a little loud, too. Not very...mid-century modern. : )
After buying our Mid-Century Modern home sight-unseen, we expected a few surprises. The sun-bleached carpet in the livingroom was the biggest surprise.
Our friends from Floorcrafters did the job in an afternoon. One tricky spot for the installer was the seam that runs the entire length of the room near the fireplace. Click on the images below for larger views.
Sure, I'm still dreaming of terrazo or wood floors someday, but even the dog seems pleased with the final result. : )
