On the original blueprints for our house, this room is designated as a "Rec Room." When we moved in four years ago the entire lower level of the house had white Berber carpeting. Yuck. I have been removing the carpet gradually over the last two years and we are finally ready to install a new vinyl composite tile (VCT) floor.
First step, use a hydralic jack to raise the floating staircase (now it's really floating!) so I can remove the last piece of carpet from beneath the foot of the stair.
Now all I have to do is prepare the floor to accept the adhesive and tiles. Stay tuned for details on our biggest home improvement project to date!
