I remember my Dad winding one of these Westclox up every night. How did people sleep with these loud ticking timepieces beside their bed?
We recently visited Fred & Ethel's in Rock Island, Illinois and found they had four of these clocks! I didn't hesitate to drop the requested $12.00 for a working reminder of days gone by.
And, yes! The hands and numbers are large and luminous!
The Big Ben appeared in the market in 1908,and, in 1912, Baby Ben started to appear. In 1934, Westclox became a division of General Time Instruments Corp, and continues to be under that name today. The Westclox alarm clock was a great alarm clock in its day inspite of the noise.
