Refrigerator: Not Cool

Our vintage Kenmore Frostless side-by-side refrigerator has given every indication that is it ready to be recycled.  It will not be missed.  Something smelled warm and I discovered the circulation fan under the machine was not turning.  A little shove and it took off.  Then for the next few days it worked better than ever.  An apology from the fridge?  Too late.  You've been so bad for so long that all we can say is, "So long." : )

MCM End Table with Removable Tray

Yesterday, a dear friend gave us this unusual gift.  She said she saw it at an estate sale and it was meant for us!  We tried this "end table" in three different spots, but it looked most at home in our living room as an MCM mini-bar.

The glass/wood top is a tray that lifts off!  I was unable to find anything quite like this online.  Does anyone have any idea how old/new this is?

We love it! : )

Salt and Pepper Takers

Why do things like this get my motor running?  These MCM salt and pepper shakers were just $4.00 at a Wisconsin antique store.

Webcor Minuet

This Webcor (Webster-Chicago) Minuet Stereofonic High Fidelity record changer and cabinet is in a nearby county historical society museum.  I remember seeing Webcor reel-to-reel tape recorders.

Modern Air

Yes, that's a mouse nest in an electrical box inside our 1985 vintage air conditioner.  This unit cools just the bedroom addition.  As you can see below, I will need to replace several wires before powering the unit up this year.
